Western medicine was a fledgling science relying on theory and observation in the 1800s. Blood-letting, cupping, and herbal plasters were respected medical practices at that time in facilities such as the hospital at Fort Snelling. Melissa Cathcart, L.Ac., will host a discussion of common health beliefs and medical modalities in use in 19th century Hennepin County. She will demonstrate the techniques and answer questions.
Seating is limited; please reserve your free tickets in advance.
