Flamenco Dance Workshops w/ Belén Maya
Espacio Flamenco is proud to host flamenco dance workshops w/ Belén Maya, Tuesday May 15th - Thursday May 17th
Beginning Technique & Por Fiesta
6:15pm - 7:45pm
This 3 day workshop will focus on technique for the beginning dance student. Last 30 min. of class dedicated to marcajes and styling for one of the por fiesta palos, Bulerias (5/15) Tangos (5/16), and Fandangos (5/17). Recommended for Adv. Beginning dance students and up (1+ years flamenco dance experience).
Intermediate Technique & Palos Flamencos
7:50pm - 9:20pm
This workshop we will work on technique for the intermediate student. The last 30 min. of class will be dedicated to marcajes and styling for distinct palos flamencos; Alegrias (5/15) Tientos (5/16), and Solea por Bulerias (5/17). Recommended for Level 2 dance students and up (3+ years flamenco dance experience).
Workshop prices:
1 Level - $135
2 Levels - $250
Drop in - $55 (subject to availability)

Belén Maya
Considered one of the most important contemporary Flamenco artists in the world today, this dancer and choreographer has pushed the limits of the art form throughout her constant quest for innovation. Her visionary approach is perceived as daring, especially by previous generations. What is today accepted as a contemporary way of moving was, during the early years of her career, considered a radical deviation from the norm. Maya has fused her Gypsy heritage and training in contemporary and experimental dance to become one of Spains most influential Flamenco artists.
