'Letter on the Blind' by Diderot was one of the earliest works to address blindness, not simply as a missing sense but rather as a different way of perceiving the world. Published in 1749, in the days of the Encyclopedia, it immediately caused a public scandal. As a result, Diderot was imprisoned in the Bastille Today, in the Wikipedia era, the blind have new tools and new ways of reading also exist: BigFish, a Natural Language Processing tool and a research subject in the Data Science field, makes it possible to visualize any text, in space. Re-reading the 'Letter on the Blind' digitally, using BigFish, highlights certain words as well as links between words that are meaningful for those who can't see, revealing what is not visible within the text.
