Craig Nelson takes the 3 am phone call. He's the volunteer rescuer we hear about in the news. He's the unsung hero who brings the worst news a family ever receives.

Craig Nelson trained, taught and, was often called into duty for special rescue missions for many years. He oversaw the safety and security of swift water events including Canoe and Kayak World Cups, Pam Am, Olympic Training Sites, and the 1996 Olympic games. On various occasions he and his teams were called in when local departments couldn't find or reach someone trapped or lost.
