Rainbow Girls
"Rainbow Girls" will bring their youthful harmony and inspiration to the Brent Auditorium on May 5 (Cinco de Mayo) at 7:30pm (doors open at 7pm). This sultry trio of exceptional local west county musicians began their musical journey in 2011, alternating between busking in Europe and touring the US as a rocknroll band. Erin Chapin, Caitlin Gowdey, and Vanessa May have emerged as a much-loved live act both abroad and on their California home turf. Rainbow Girls' discerning sensibility in regards to living in this good ol' U.S. of A. is acutely reflected in their impassioned debut record as a trio, "American Dream". Their performance will focus on the music put forth on their new album and highlight their rich harmonies, ageless songwriting, and soulful, bluesy sound in its rawest form while spotlighting their unique perspective and inspired messaging. In the words of journalist Richard Shashamane, " Just occasionally one comes across a band for the first time who truly move, excite and lift one so totally as to get absolutely caught up in the moment and the music They play with soul, spirit and energy, are talented and versatile musicians, have beautiful voices and write stunning and catchy songs."
