What are School Night Mondays? SNMs are hosted by Danny Michel & his band as a relaxed, casual, intimate & early show that takes place in tiny venues across Canada on Monday nights. The band performs music from Danny's 10 album catalogue, test drives new songs, has a surprise guest who performs a few songs with the band and is a guaranteed good time. With nominations for three JUNO Awards, The Polaris Prize, The CBC's "Heart Of Gold" AND a pile of albums under his belt, Danny Michel is unquestionably one of Canada's finest songwriters. His thoughtful lyrics & earnest performances have earned him a devoted fan base. He's truly a musical chameleon that has the ability to slip into many genres with ease. An adventurous & fearless artist. A master at striking the right balance between unpredictability and meeting expectations, leaving you wanting more as soon as it's over.
In 2011 Danny relocated to Belize and founded the Danny Michel Ocean Academy Fund to help raise scholarships for a small non-profit community high school. To date, he's raised over $75,000.00 for the school, and volunteers there when he can.
Danny recently released his album "Khlebnikov" (written aboard a Russian Icebreaker on an arctic expedition with astronaut Chris Hadfield) on January 20th, 2017, to rave reviews from fans and media alike. He's currently working on his next exciting album project...more news on that soon.
