Boundless
The New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center is pleased to present a staged reading of Boundless on Thursday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for the Fishing Heritage Center as a portion of the proceeds will support the Center's educational programs.
Boundless is a new play written by Alison Weller with music by Peter Hodgson and Alison Weller. This play explores how local fishermen navigate the complexities of todays world, Created from interviews with Cape Cod fishermen, their families, and the organizations that keep them fishing, Boundless takes us into the heart of their story. The actors, musicians, and playwright will participate in a post-performance discussion.
Boundless premiered last fall at Cape Rep Theater in Brewster. The Cape Cod Times says With Cape talent that is world-class creating it, Boundless is urgent, indigenous art that brings the local perspective to the universal. Lee Roscoe, Cape Cod Times. The play was funded in part with support from Mass Humanities.
The performance will take place at the New Bedford Whaling Museum located at 18 Johnny Cake Hill and feature some new material not see in the Cape Rep Theater performances. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
A pre-performance reception for ticket holders will be held from 5:30 t0 6:30 at the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center location at 38 Bethel Street.
