VS Guitar Duo master class Portland, OR

Guitar virtuosos Vadim Kolpakov & Sasha Kolpakov captivate audiences with an energetic take on classic jams from a wide range of genres.
VS Guitar Duo consists of the famous Russian, 7-string guitarist Vadim Kolpakov, a special guest artist of Madonna's world tour "Sticky & Sweet", and his nephew, Sasha Kolpakov, a young virtuoso guitarist.
The program of VS Guitar Duo combine music from different parts of the world, including Romany (Gypsy) music, American Jazz, Latin and Spanish Flamenco. Both have performed extensively in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and Singapore.

The concert will feature famous musician, the Chervona band leader from Portland, Andrei Temkin.

GUITAR MASTER CLASS of the VS GUITAR DUO - Vadim and Sasha Kolpakov will provide a master class of the Russian-Romani (Gypsy) seven-string and six-string guitar techniques. Students will learn the rhythms of different Romani (Gypsy) guitar traditions such as Flamenco, Gypsy Jazz, and Russian-Romani, as well as ornamentation styles. The musicians will briefly provide information about the history of Gypsy music, the origin of Roma and other relative information. Students of intermediate or pro-level are welcome.
