Cary Hudson House Concert
Roots Hoot House Concerts welcomes singer/songwriter/'guitarist Cary Hudson of the band Blue Mountain fame, not to mention his own stellar solo releases, back to house on Friday, June 1, for our 2017-18 season finale. It has been since June of 2010 since Cary last performed here and his shows, both solo and with Blue Mountain, have been among our most memorable. Carys music career began with a bang when his band placed third at the Sumrall High School Talent Show in 1980. In the late 80s he moved to Oxford and started The Hilltops with John Stirratt (currently bassist with Wilco), and shortly thereafter Johns twin sister Laurie joined the band. After five years of touring, recording, and liver damage, The Hilltops called it a day and Cary and Laurie moved to Los Angeles in 1990. While there, they'd form the band Blue Mountain which was a vital entity in the early days of the No Depression movement. BM went on hiatus in 2002 and Cary went the solo route where other than several Blue Mountain reformations, he has been ever since. As is customary for our Friday night shows, itll be a BYOB-only event with doors at 7 and music starting at 7:45 pm. Do NOT miss!
