Discover Tai Chi & Bagua
Would you like to learn more about moving mindfully? Join us for this three-hour introduction to Tai Chi and Bagua.
Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi (Taijiquan) is known for its gentle, flowing, interconnected movements. Tai Chi is often thought of as a graceful, low impact form of exercise used to maintain & improve health & overall wellness. We'll explore a short form based on the original Tai Chi practice from China.
Relatively rare in the West, Bagua Zhang (Pa Kua Chang) is a practice which focuses turning and coiling movements to stretch and strengthen the body. Its signature exercise -- circle walking -- also enhances balance and alignment. Bagua offers a wonderful contrast to the slow, flowing movements of Tai Chi.
YOUR INSTRUCTOR Bobby Garcia has practiced martial arts for over 30 years, 16 of which includes the study of the traditional Chinese Martial Arts, Tai Chi, and Bagua. Bobby has studied several styles of Tai Chi and Bagua and with multiple masters, including Chen Bing, a Tai Chi Master from China who is a direct descendant of Tai Chi founder Chen Wangting.
