Eclectic Stew- April
This month we are offering up the world premiere of Raft- Glub, Glub Glub by Thomas Prosser. It is a black comedy about three shipwreck survivors. This is a satire about class warfare. Monte Fairbanks IV, his lawyer Marvin Pigeon, and Steven Cook, who owned the boat, are stuck on a raft after a whale destroyed the boat in a fit of anger.  Fairbanks has a dread of cannibals.  He pressures the others to sail to distant Peru, although Fiji is only 400 miles away. All three men are confronted by ghosts of their past.

The program will begin with four ten-minute plays.
Strangers on a Train, by Mona Deutsch Miller: For lovers of black comedy and old British movies, come see how two contemporary train travelers deal with delays triggered by events just outside the window of their compartment. Phillip, a neatnik, has his day all mapped out. Louise, a free spirit with fierce determination, has had her eye on him.

Your Lucky Day, by Paul Gulino, tells the tale of a sleazy con artist who meets an innocent young woman in a New York coffee shop  - and has the tables turned on him.

Someday Can't Come Soon Enough, by Thomas Prosser is a scene from Prosser's 1950s themed play,  Bum Tickers. It shows the  pressures  Phil Golly, current Heavyweight Champion and his wife, drug addled jazz singer,  Carmen St. James face, which include mob fixes, money worries and fidelity issues as well as the prospect of dealing with of Phil Golly's  half brother, Stormy Weathers just released from prison who was the  former husband of Carmen.

The Leaving, by Ed Horowitz, is a poignant tale of two young people, a male transitioning to female and a woman who cut herself and fails at committing suicide , in the recreation room of a psych ward.  Each is about to be discharged.  They come together to share that drink Billy Joel  calls loneliness.
