Live at Studio5: ROSE COLELLA
Rose Colella, vocal Dan Murphy, piano Ashley Summers, bass Dana Hall, drums
Popular Chicago vocalist Rose Colella performs regularly at clubs including The Jazz Showcase and The Green Mill alongside the citys finest musicians. She has performed at NYCs Feinsteins/54 Below and has been featured in the New York Times.
Besides being a fine singer, Rose has a genuine jazz pedigree. Her grandmother was Lola Bard, a 1930s vocalist who performed and recorded with Bobby Hackett and The Original Dixieland Jazz Band (the ODJB, by the way, had made the very first jazz recordings in 1917!). Rose has affectionately named her production company after her grandmother and performs some of Lolas material in her shows. We are eager to welcome Rose for her debut performance at Studio5. She will be joined by pianist Dan Murphy, bassist Ashley Summers, and drummer Dana Hall. This should be a thoroughly entertaining evening. I hope you can join us.
Click on the video to hear Rose performing "You Made Me Love You" at New York's Metropolitan Room.
We'll be recording this performance for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB, so you'll be part of the studio audience! See you there! -SR
