Theatre at Granite Bay Presents: Jesus Christ Superstar
Theatre at Granite Bay proudly presents Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's world renowned rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar. Originally released in 1970 as a rock concept album, the record was No. 1 on the Billboard charts before its Broadway debut in 1971. Set in the not-too-distant-future during the final week of Jesus' life, the story is told from the perspective of infamous betrayer Judas Iscariot. As more and more followers flock to Jesus, Judas grows concerned that Jesus is becoming overwhelmed and losing sight of his principles. Judas inevitably turns on his teacher, setting both on a path to tragedy.
This production features stunning and captivating choreography by Berkshire Theatre Award winner Sebastiani Romagnolo.
