Garden House Blues #4
Jack Cook & Mick Knight with Ray Skjelbred
Jack Cook has developed an entire old school blues musical around Seattle's Elliott Bay history and lore and he has more knowledge about the history of the blues than most musicians will ever have in their entire lifetime. He's a collector and loves to share the real deal with his delighted audiences. He is joined by Mick Knight who hails from the UK, where there is much love and respect for the blues and it's history. He carries within him the knowledge and love for this music that makes his show with Jack a special occasion. Adding Ray Skjelbred is a treat for everyone as Ray brings the heavy ragtime piano chops to the table and then add the dolceola - a one of a kind musical instrument for a one of a kind musical night!

Garden House is a beautiful older house with classic wood floors and a large living room space featuring a nice upright piano and wonderful acoustics. It is surrounded by a big lawn and large trees on one side and a graceful set of stairs flowing from the house and opening up to more lawn and a beautiful garden surrounding the other side. It is accessible and has lots of parking behind from the alley and in front on 15th Avenue, and is an excellent spot for an acoustic show. Garden House is owned by the Washington State Federated Garden Club, part of the world's largest volunteer organization, and you can see part of their story in the black and white framed photos of the women who own the house lining the entry hall wall. ROCKiT Community Arts has offices upstairs and brings the Beacon Hill community together on a regular basis for music and more. Capacity is appx. 80 seats and all ages are welcome.
