Country Seats on the Delaware

A country seat is a large country house belonging to an aristocratic family. On this trip, you'll tour Pennsbury Manor, the recreated home of William Penn, and Andalusia, the great neoclassic home of Nicholas Biddle, a prominent financier and cultural influencer of early America.

Your tour is guided by Dr. Irwin Richman, professor emeritus at Penn State University and author of several books on Pennsylvania German culture, and Michael Emery, museum educator at Landis Valley and author of several books on Pennsylvania German culture.

Class is part of Landis Valley's 2018 Summer Institute.

Breakfast: 8-9 a.m.
Lunch: 12-1 p.m.

Please note that prices quoted include a catered breakfast and lunch in the Yellow Barn each day for Institute participants. If you choose to forgo the meals, please choose the NO-MEAL pricing option, which is $20 less per day you are participating in Institute.

Cancellation Policy:
Registrations will be taken up until June 1. We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registration. Students can make another choice or receive a full refund. Please read the information in your confirmation regarding any materials/tools you may need.

Students must be age 18 or older. Please visit our website, www.landisvalleymuseum.org, for more information on Institute. Landis Valley Associates (LVA) members receive 5% off their registration. If you are a member, please check our website for the code listed with the class and enter it in the "Discount Code" field at checkout.
