Alfredo Muro, Classical Guitar and James Bailey, Cello
A guitar and a cello walk into a bar. That's not too far away from what really happened here. Peruvian classical guitarist Alfredo Muro, and American cellist James Bailey began playing together in Louisville in 2015. Today they play internationally, including a performance last year at the prestigious San Miguel de Allende International Music Festival. Now they're back in Louisville with a brand new repertoire. The first half features Muro solo, playing original compositions as well as a tribute to modern tango master Astor Piazzolla. In the second half, Bailey's cello joins Muro's guitar to perform songs from their newly released album, "Carinhoso", including Muro's own arrangement of the spectacular Duo Apaixonado. For those who love expressive music played by a master, or for those who think they would, this is the concert for you.
