Set in the Berlin of 1929-30 as the Nazi party begins its rise to power, Cabaret presents the story of an American author seeking the perfect setting for his next novel. On a deeper level, the John Kander-Fred Ebb musical reveals a world in denialof characters desperately trying to ignore the warning signs around them, dancing recklessly on the brink of the chasm that would become World War II.

Immediately acclaimed as one of the greatest musicals of all time after its 1966 opening on Broadway, Cabaret was nominated for 11 Tony awards and won eight, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. Balancing Cabaret's dark undertones with showmanship, laughter, and legendary tunes such as "Willkommen," "Don't Tell Mama," and, of course, "Cabaret," Concordia's production promises to be an unforgettable embodiment of the final big party before the world began its chilling and inevitable descent into history's most devastating and destructive war.
