Slow Food Napa Valley Third Wave Coffee Tasting
Slow Food Napa Valley invites you to join us for a Third Wave Coffee and Chocolate Pairing event at Yo el Rey Roasting on March 21st.
First there was Folgers, then there was Peet's, and now there are artisanal roasters producing high-quality "Third Wave Coffee". Calistoga's Yo el Rey Roasting is part of this American phenomenon. J Kirk Feiereisen, proprietor of Yo El Rey, talks about coffee like Napa Valley folks talk about wine . . . about the nuances of bean varietals and growing regions, techniques of flavor extraction, and strategies in pairing with food. With a commitment to superior quality, fair trade, organic farming, environmental sensitivity, and fresh artisan micro-roasting, it's no surprise that Yo el Rey was voted the Best Café/Coffeehouse in Napa County in the North Bay Bohemian.
The event includes a discussion about coffee followed by a demonstration roasting, coffee cupping, and coffee pairing with chocolates from TCHO, San Francisco's top chocolate maker. TCHO stands for obsessively good chocolate, innovation in every aspect of its business, and making a better world by investing in partnerships with cacao farmers to improve their livelihoods and their craft.
Attendance at the event is limited to 20 and tickets are available only through Brown Paper Tickets at a cost of $20.00 which includes a bag of freshly roasted coffee.
