Cooking for Compassion and Health: Exploring Indian Cuisine
Love Indian food but feel it is too complicated to make at home? Confused by how to combine Indian spices? Wondering how to substitute for dairy in your favorite rich Indian curries? This class is for you! We'll explore the unique elements and techniques of Indian cuisine that makes it stand out from other types of cooking and learn all about Indian spices. We will prepare a full Indian meal which includes dal (legumes), vegetables, curry, rice, flatbread and chutney.
This class is brought to you by Dharma Voices for Animals, Chico Chapter, and Sky Creek Dharma Center, a Buddhist meditation space.
This will be the third of three classes this year exploring Indian cuisine. These are stand-alone classes in which we will be making different recipes for each class.
A recommended cookbook is Vegan Richa's Indian Kitchen. Many of the recipes we will be cooking are from this book.
