Joy Zimmerman & Jimmy Dykes captivate audiences with dynamic vocals, dazzling instrumentals, and stellar harmonies. Each show is a high-energy mix of classic tunes and Joy's award-winning original songs.

Joy brings compelling vocals, inventive songwriting, and multiple instruments to her engaging performances. Her eclectic music began with violin lessons before kindergarten, evolved with guitar lessons decades later, and springs from plenty of soulful moments in between.

Joy has five albums of original music--two recorded and co-produced with Jimmy Dykes in Kansas City at Weights and Measures Soundlab and three recorded and produced by Fett in Nashville at Azalea Studios. Her songwriting awards include American Songwriter Lyric Contest Honorable Mention and five Walnut Valley Festival New Song Showcase wins.

Hooked by the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show when he was eight, Jimmy Dykes was performing professionally by the age of ten and was most notably playing with the local and regional act Solar Eclipse whose penchant was soul funk and R&B. While not limited to any genre, blues, soul funk, R&B, and jazz have always been home.

Jimmy has played in many bands over the years: JT Cook, SDI (strategic dance initiative), Baby Leroy, Blue Riddim band, Hot House, Thirsty and the Water Boys and has performed with many major artists, including Dr John Shadow, Isaac Hays, Mike Finnigan, Rufas Tomas, Percy Sledge, and toured internationally with Oleta Adams for 17 years.
