AATC Writing Studio: Creating a Screenplay or Stageplay
This writing class intensive explores the similarities and differences of storybuilding in stage plays and movies (covering 2 current movies and 2 plays). Extensive hands-on in-class writing and team writing. Open to all levels.
Taught by renowned playwright, Jeannie Barroga (BANYAN, WALLS, TALK STORY, RITA'S RESOURCES), this class will teach students the basic building blocks of story development and how to tap into their source through application from plot to theatricality. Actors learn subtext and the tools to analyze character arcs. Primarily, this course will provide them with the tools needed to examine and dissect their own work. Some coverage on AATC history.
Limited to 10-12 people, classes will feature both lecture and hands-on application. Class will culminate in a public reading of selected scenes.
