Hollywood Heritage and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Present: The Look of "Feud" - The Bette Davis & Joan Crawford Mini-Series
On Wednesday, April 25th at 7:30PM, Hollywood Heritage and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will present a very special Evening @ The Barn celebrating the look of "Feud" - The Bette Davis & Joan Crawford Mini-Series.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dr. Deborah Nadoolman Landis is unable to appear. In her place, we are pleased to announce that noted costume expert and author Louise Coffey-Webb ("Managing Costume Collections: An Essential Primer") will be moderating the panel discussion including author Christian Esquevin (Adrian: Silver Screen to Custom Label) and author James Jay Jorgensen ("Creating the Illusion", "Edith Head: The Fifty-Year Career of Hollywood's Greatest Costume") to investigate how these two actresses approached dressing for their roles and working with their respective designers throughout their careers and how their choices were reflected in the recent TV series "Feud". Joining the panel will also be Florencia Martin, Emmy Award-nominated set decorator for "Feud".
On display will be a vintage costume each, from a Crawford and Davis film - an Adrian-designed Crawford costume from 1936's "The Gorgeous Hussey" and an Orry-Kelly designed Bette Davis costume from the 1939 film "Juarez", plus rare and unusual props from the "Feud" mini-series.
As always, our event will feature our famous raffle, which helps raise money for our Acquisitions Fund, so we can continue to purchase items for our permanent collection.
Please note, this event will take place at the end of April as opposed to the first or second Wednesday of the month, in order to coincide with the opening of the TCM Classic Film Festival. Be sure to purchase your tickets early as this event is likely to sell-out.
