Our 2018-2019 season: A World Tour of Baroque Music
Get your passports ready! Sandwiched between two exciting concerts featuring multiple harpsichords are four concerts featuring Baroque masterworks from Italy, Germany, France and England. Hear the greatest Baroque music and enjoy the different national styles.
Concerts in this series are:
* September 7th, 7pm and 8th, 3pm Works for Two Solo Harpsichords with Anton Nel and Keith Womer Anton and Keith perform music by Buxtehude, Couperin, WF Bach, JC Bach, JS Bach and Rameau, using four harpsichords from our Herd (two at a time of course!).
October 13th, 7pm and 14th, 3pm A World Tour of Opera Opera arias by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Hasse, Purcell, Handel, Lully, and Rameau are sung by stellar soloists and a 17-piece Baroque orchestra.
November 10th, 7pm and 11th, 3pm A World Tour of Chamber Music An intimate concert of nine musicians playing works by Telemann, Couperin, Purcell, and Handel, along with the Pachelbel Canon and Vivaldi La Folia variations.
January 5, 7pm and 6th, 3pm A World Tour of Orchestral Music A 21-piece Baroque orchestra performs Handels Royal Fireworks, Bachs Orchestral Suite No. 3, a concerto from Vivaldis Four Seasons, Charpentiers Te Deum, and others.
February 9th, 7pm and 10th, 3pm A World Tour of Secular and Religious Vocal Works Works by Pergolesi, Bach, Jacquet de la Guerre, Purcell, and Handel are performed by four soloists and a 16 -piece Baroque chamber ensemble.
* April 26th, 7pm and 27th, 3pm Herd of Harpsichords The complete concertos for two and three harpsichords by JS Bach Performed on three harpsichords by the incomparable Anton Nel, director Keith Womer, and Don Livingston, with the La Follia strings.
* Note these concerts are on Friday and Saturday
Venue for all concerts is Redeemer Presbyterian Church on Alexander Drive in central Austin.
Season subscriptions are offered as "Will Call". This saves you the concern about printing or misplacing tickets.
If you are unable to attend a concert, you are always able to transfer your ticket to a friend. Just have them notify the ticket desk or email info@lafollia.org.
