Tap and Tastings - CTT's 10th Anniversary Gala
Celebrate Chicago Tap Theatre! Join us for a delicious celebration of tap dance and locally-produced artisanal foods and drinks, plus performances and a fabulous silent auction! Meet and mingle with CTT's dancers and board members. We are proud to announce our 2013 Inspiration Award honoree Marc Smith. Marc Smith is the creator of the Poetry Slam. Yep. The whole genre of art started right here in Chicago with Mr. Smith. He is the international ambassador of performance poetry and a true innovator within his field. He has also been a supporter of Chicago Tap Theatre from the beginning, serving as an inaugural Board Member and collaborating with the company on last year's Story Show, Eyes Without A Face, and this year's upcoming show, Mama's Boy. Marc Smith has been a cultural icon in the international poetry community for doing precisely what Chicago Tap Theatre has been attempting to accomplish: take an art form that was lacking in visibility and make it accesible, relevant and engaging. We are honored to have Mr. Smith in attendance at our gala this year!
