Music @ Engine: Tan Vampires + Jon Nolan
Tan Vampires: "This band from New Hampshire has stuck with me since the first time I dug its debut album, For Physical Fitness, out of NPR Music's massive pile of incoming mail. It's an album crammed with well-crafted songs that soar, twist and never blend into one another." NPR
"Their melancholy harmonies and emotive lyrics are gripping- something that takes ahold of you with the power to both shake you violently and rub your back at the same time. No track does this more than "I Found A Body". It's a gorgeous display of the band's storytelling ability that features lead vocalist Jake Mehrmann's smooth, flowing vocals and delicate instrumentals. Fans of Local Natives and Fleet Foxes rejoice, you have a new favorite up-and-coming indie obsession" Eric Weiner, The Wild Honey Pie

Jon Nolan: It's Americana pop. Good songs for people who care about good songs. Paul Kolderie (Morphine, Radiohead, Uncle Tupelo) mixed "When the Summers Lasted Long," the self-recorded, debut solo release from Jon Nolan. The end result is a timeless, honest and charming americana/pop record that chronicles Nolan's transition from youth to adulthood in the way that "Darkness'" did for Bruce. No Depression Magazine and the Boston Herald both featured the disc in their "Best Of" lists along with heavy hitters like Son Volt, Kathleen Edwards and Ryan Adams. For ten+ years, Nolan fronted Say ZuZu. They released 6 CDs, had a record deal in Europe on Germany's Blue Rose Records, and played all over 25 US states and four European countries.
