BLAKE ZWEIG with Aaron Dorfman & Friends (featuring Dan Andree & Pat Otto)
Uncommon Ground Lakeview Presents... An intimate dinner show featuring Blake Zweig along with Aaron Dorfman & Friends (Dan Andree & Pat Otto)
----------
Blake Zweig is a psychologist by day and singer-song writer by night. Blakes musical career began in 1998, when he formed the band Sleeping for Sunrise and played shows with bands like Braid, Promise Ring, American Football, and other memorable indie-emo rock bands of that era. His first solo album, Other People Make Me Do This, was released in 2001, and consisted of Blakes somber voice and delicate guitar style with minor accompaniment from Mike Kinsella of American Football and Owen. Blakes song White Sail from Other People Make Me Do This was used poignantly at the climax of the Norwegian independent film Sagas Øy. In 2007, Blake formed Small Town which added drums, bass, and cello to his singer-song writer style. Their song Daisy was highlighted on Chicago radio WXRTs Local Anesthetic show with Richard Milne. Years later, Blakes song Spain from his most recent album, Dandelion, was also featured on Local Anesthetic.
----------
Aaron Dorfman, former guitarist and vocalist for Chicagos own Henhouse Prowlers, has traveled the world playing guitar; from Kenya to Kyrgyzstan, Ireland to Pakistan and a whole host of incredible places in between. With a flatpicking style strongly inspired by Bryan Sutton, David Grier and Doc Watson alike, Dorfman strives to inject as much energy as possible into the music he creates, writes and performs. Aaron will be joined by the exquisitely talented Dan Andree and Patt Otto, on fiddle and mandolin.
