Finding Our Way Through Political Correctness
Whether on the right or left of the political spectrum, people dont feel free to express themselves for fear of being censored, shamed, boycotted, or accused of cultural appropriation. This workshop explores the cultural phenomena of political correctness from its well-intentioned beginnings to how it created a huge fault line in our communities and across our country. Well discover how people feel and discuss whether its been a success or not. Well examine helpful strategies and offer expert advice and reflective tools. The goal is to bring people from both sides of the issue together to find consilience and see that there is a sweet spot in the middle where mutual understanding can be cultivated. Polarization does not bring about effective change; working together with mutual respect and compassion does. Learn how. Facilitated by Marla Estes and Rob Schläpfer.
