Vancouver, BC
Share this event:

Enjoy an evening of beautiful music for a great cause! In Mariposa's sixth annual charity benefit show Toward Tomorrow, award-winning singers Jacqueline Ko, Brittony LeFever and Lyndon Ladeur and pianist Nina Horvath perform opera, Broadway and more in support of the ME/FM Society of BC.  Join this all-star cast for a journey across the musical spectrum - from L'elisir d'amore to Little Women, from Tales of Hoffmann to Hamilton. Indulge your sweet tooth at the dessert buffet, and enter to win over $3,000 in prizes. Toward Tomorrow is coming to the stage for one night only, so you won't want to miss the uplifting new show from  the company that "stands at the forefront of Vancouver's opera scene" (The Vancouver Project)!

Featuring
Jacqueline Ko, soprano
Brittony LeFever, mezzo-soprano
Lyndon Ladeur, tenor
Nina Horvath, piano

The story behind the show:
Performer and producer Jacqueline Ko has lived with the systemic neuroimmune disease Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), sometimes referred to as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), since age six. Despite the challenges of her illness, which left her bedbound for years, she has managed to become a multi-award-winning singer and found a critically acclaimed opera and musical theatre company. She is committed to using her passion for music to help others, and since founding Mariposa at age 20 her performances have raised over $50,000 in support of chronic neuroimmune disease treatment, education and research. Her story is featured in the book Lighting Up a Hidden World: CFS and ME by Valerie Free.

What is the ME/FM Society of BC?
The ME/FM Society of BC is a registered BC charity working to support people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Fibromyalgia (FM) throughout British Columbia. Their purpose is to educate, inform and increase awareness of ME and FM within the health care community, government and public; to provide information, support and advocacy for patients and their families; and to promote state-of-the-art medical research, testing, diagnosis and treatments.
