Chicago Rope's Introduction to Japanese Rope Bondage (May Course)
Want to learn how to use rope but don't know where to start? This four-class series will give you all of the tools you need to start tying in the Japanese style of rope bondage (also known as shibari or kinbaku).

A single ticket purchased here ticket covers all four sessions for one tying pair. This course is limited to a total of 10 tying pairs. Please enroll only if you can commit to attending all sessions. The material is cumulative from session to session.
PREREQUISITES No previous rope experience is necessary. If you have already learned a significant amount of rope elsewhere, this course is likely not for you. All attendees must be 18 or older. You must have a government-issued ID verifying your age to be admitted.
PARTNER You must attend this series with a partner. We ask that you work with the same partner and choose one role (tying or being tied) for the duration of the course. This class is limited to a total of 10 tying pairs.
CURRICULUM We'll cover safety, core techniques and concepts, and classic ties that you can use for play. This class will also help you build the skills to move on to the more advanced material taught in our monthly classes.
MATERIALS This course requires at least two lengths of medium-diameter bondage-grade natural-fiber rope, such as jute or hemp. We offer fully processed and conditioned premium 6mm Ogawa jute for purchase at a discounted price with your registration.

LOCATION This course will be held in our Wicker Park class venue, Outerspace Studios, conveniently located just steps from the Damen CTA Blue Line station. Limited street parking is available on Milwaukee or surrounding the park. Sunday parking is free on Milwaukee. We recommend that those who are driving allow extra time to find parking. Unfortunately, Outerspace Studios is up a long flight of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
