Railway Gamblers
Railway Gamblers is a Cosmic Americana group from Chicago, IL. Since their formation in March 2014, the group has placed an emphasis on creating original material that blends several genres, including a vibrant folk sound, bluegrass, reverbed ambient elements, and rock and roll. The bands ambitious mindset to consistently release new music for their audiences has been praised by fans of all ages, as the palatable and melodic Railway Gamblers sound echoes in each of their songs.
Driven by the storytelling songwriting style of front man, Brendan Folliard, the unique resonant guitar sound of Matt Fricks, and the duo rhythm section of Joe Sexton and Sean Wilmsen, Railway Gamblers have composed and released two full-length albums (Heart of the Sun and Shadow of the Moon) between April 2015 and January 2016. The group is in the process of recording their third full-length release, A Way in the Wind, under the guidance of recording engineer Mike Hagler (engineer on Wilcos Summerteeth). Both the title track from A Way in the Wind and the second single, When the Morning Comes, can be heard on the groups website. The album is scheduled for release late 2016.
Railway Gamblers have gained recognition throughout the Midwest for their studio recordings and live performances. The band received attention from WXRT for their first single, Fade Away, and has also shared the stage with a number of national-touring acts, including Jeff Austin from Yonder Mountain String Band, Tom Hamiltons American Babies, and The Way Down Wanderers.
Coyote Riot
Coyote Riot is group of friends hailing from the far Southwest side of Chicago playing a style of Americana music with hints of folk, bluegrass, rockabilly and more. What began as hanging out, banging on some guitars and occasionally playing at local pubs back in 2012 has matured into a more developed sound being put on display on bigger stages around the Midwest and has culminated into the bands first album release of original music in December of 2016 titled Burnt Along the Way.
Combining the raucous sounds of guitars, tenor banjo, electric bass, peddle steel and fiddle and an array of signature voices, Coyote Riot has developed a knack for putting on a rowdy show bursting with energy. The band can often be found playing out around venues stretching the city, the local bars in and around their Mount Greenwood Beverly neighborhood and playing outdoor summer festivals or parties for just about any occasion.
The band looks forward to further developing their sound,
