Stereo Live Presents: Mark Fewer
Canadian Legend Mark Fewer joins Stereo Live for an evening of solo violin music by Ysaye, Schulhoff, and a new caprice by John Novacek and Atar Arad, written for Mark Fewer himself. Mark will also be joined by Stereo Live Artistic Directors Edwin Huizinga and Keith Hamm in a performance of the Kodaly trio. It will be a night to remember!!!
Described as genre-bending by the National Post, and intrepid by the Globe and Mail, Mark Fewer has performed around the world to critical acclaim in virtually every role asked of a violinist - and then some. His regular musical diet includes performances from the early baroque to the avant-garde, with recent performances as soloist with groups as wide-ranging as the Melbourne Symphony (Australia), the Fodens-Richardson Brass Band (UK), the Zapp Quartet (Amsterdam), and the McGill Percussion Ensemble (Canada). He is also a dedicated chamber musician, jazz violinist, artistic director, and teacher.
STEREO LIVE presents this very special installment in collaboration with Toronto's GRAPE WITCHES, a similarly popular, lovingly curated passion project of real-life best friends Nicole Campbell (wine importer, LIFFORD) and Krysta Oben (sommelier, PARIS PARIS BAR). From Toronto warehouses to forgotten bowling alleys to the Vancouver art gallery, the Witches host tastings and parties across Canada, sharing the magic of their favourite wines in joyous, non-pretentious and inclusive ways.
This exclusive collaboration at the intersection of Toronto's flourishing indie food & wine and classical music scenes will be elegant and soulful, welcoming and dynamic: a rare, accessible event featuring some of the city's most compelling sounds and tastes.
Tickets: $25 Doors open at 7 pm
Performance starts at 8 pm
