Wildscape Ambassador 201 Workshop + Special Presentation by PPAN
Native pollinators, including butterflies, bees, and birds are declining in Colorado and elsewhere in the U.S. largely due to habitat loss. This talk will explore ways that home gardeners can help to reverse this trend by utilizing beautiful, water-saving, native plants that provide essential forage and shelter for wildlife.
Associations between plants and pollinators will be explored in detail, as well as information on how to grow the plants including height, width, soil and water requirements, and timing of bloom. The talk will also include an investigation of how the structure and arrangement of the garden design, and specific cultural practices, can benefit both plants and wildlife.
