Vixen Noir presents BLACKOUSTIC
RAW SEXY LIVE Acoustic Showcase featuring Black Queer Music Artists
On Saturday, March 31, recent LA transplant, singer, songwriter, recording artist, erotic performance artist, producer and director, Vixen Noir, will present her first LA-produced event, BLACKOUSTIC! She created the Acoustic Music showcase as a platform for talented up-and-coming Black Queer Artists to strip it down and perform the most vulnerable, revealing and provocative renditions of their original music.
My biggest passions besides my Art, include uplifting, supporting and promoting Black Queer Artists to authentically bring all of who they are to their music, projects, community and the world, says Vixen. As Black Queer Artists, we are rarely acknowledged, seen, or heard in the music and entertainment industries, so it becomes even more important to create our own opportunities to showcase our talent to larger LGBTQ and mainstream audiences. This is only the beginning, says Vixen, who, like so many others, moved to Los Angeles to advance her artistic career. What sets her apart from everybody else? For more than 20 years, this multi-faceted, international Artist has been a champion of empowering the LGBTQ community, especially people of color, through her music, theatrical and cabaret productions, solo performances, tours and workshops. Her most celebrated work, The Liquid Fire Project, a Queer Women of Color theatre company, literally changed the lives of thousands of women from San Francisco, California to Sydney, Australia. I have so much to give, and LA is not easy ground to break. So Im going to start a revolution with Blackoustic and hope it opens doors for myself and other Queer Artists of Color.
The line-up features Alt-Goth Hip Hop Artist, Jupiter Black; Neo Soul/R&B Artist, Jurni Rayne; and Alt-Pop/Dance/Soul Artist, Vixen Noir. Performance Artist Extraordinaire, Alexandria Jean Boddie is Mastress of Ceremonies.
