Sessions from the Martin Hanson
This concert series now in it's third season continues to feature Chance in collaboration with many of the areas gifted songwriters and on March 17th at 2:00 p.m. their featured guest will be Michael LaughingFox Charette .
Michael comes from the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwa. His spirit name is Bapa Waagash (Laughing Fox). I worked with Michael in a Warren Nelson production at a local festival called the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua. In that show he was relaying part of the origin story of his people as well as playing the flutes he creates, in both capacities he was utterly captivating. At a later performance I had the pleasure of accompanying him on my cello and I can't wait to add to this combination to the one of a kind soulful voice of Cheryl Leah - I think we have the makings of an unforgettable afternoon.
