[framed] film series: The Hanji Box
The Hanji Box is about Hannah, an American mother emerging heartbroken from a divorce, and Rose, her adopted Korean daughter.  When the mysterious Hanji Box-Rose's precious link to Korea is broken, Hannah travels to New York's Koreatown to try to mend it. By chance she meets a charismatic Korean artist, who takes her on a journey of cultural discovery. Nuanced performances by the actors Suzanne Dudley Schon, Natalie Kim and Daniel Park illuminate the complexities of adoption, issues of longing and belonging, loss, mothering, identity and US Korean history.

New York Eurasian Film Festival

The R Word, is a short film directed and edited by Jacobson, written by Tom Coash, with original music by Tyler Gibbons and Larry Polansky.
