AGE RECOMMENDATION:
This 9 week workshop series is geared for youth 5th Grade on up. Our class size is small up to 12 students per class.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Ryan Rasar of Stemqwest is leading this fun class via our virtual classroom at this exciting kickoff to the first of iCreate digi-tech workshop Spring series. Students are required to provide their own Laptop (Mac, Windows or Chromebook) with wireless capabilities for this class and in order to continue working on their project at home. No tablets please as they will not work for this course.
ACO uses object-oriented programming rooted in JavaScript to simplify the programming process while creating visually attractive and increasingly complex 3D video games. Because of this "low ceiling/high threshold" approach, prior coding and programming skills are not required. However, if you have some prior experience you can use your knowledge and skills to create more intricate games with advanced programming techniques. *Software subscription is included!
The software runs through the web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and all game files are stored in the cloud via their login. Same goes for the online Canvas classroom, no downloading required. This works out very well because students can access their accounts from multiple devices and files are never lost.
DATES / TIMES:
This workshop series are 2.5 hrs and held once weekly on Mondays After School "Early Dismissal" from 2:30-5:00pm includes free membership M-Th to use lab and work on projects (optional).

School bus stop is at Valley & Sunrise (across from Bay Hay / Music Guild) and drops off just before the beginning of each class.
