Louisa Bradshaw: "Up Close and Far Too Personal"
Photograph by Helene DeLillo
Louisa Bradshaw: "Up Close and Far Too Personal" is a wild romp through the artists mind, heart and dirty laundry. We join Louisa on her mid life victory tour with an eclectic mix of American standards, country, jazz, folk, rock and originals. Bradshaw peppers her brilliant vocals with confessions, comedy and full financial disclosure for a night of no she didn't, oh yes she did musical entertainment and table side therapy. Born in Nuremberg and forged in the operatic fires of Wichita's Friends University, Louisa dumped The Singing Quakers for a highly dysfunctional relationship with the Chicago acting scene.
After The Wall Came Down, Bradshaw returned to Berlin, becoming the reigning queen of the late night cabaret scene. She morphed her act into the wildly popular three-woman show "Triple Goddess" which was then imported to Manhattan.
She was praised by the New York Times as "wonderfully breathless in a silky polyester dress" for her comedic genius in "She is King". Bradshaw's off Broadway show "Siren's Heart" was described by one critic as "the best one-person performance I've ever seen."
"Bradshaw is riveting. Excites as I've rarely seen happen on stage." Joe Franklin, Bloomberg Radio
"The best one-person performance I've ever seen. Louisa is a sensation." Ted Kavanau, Founding Senior Producer of CNN
"An incomparable performer, Bradshaw is a seasoned comedienne." Sarah MacDonnell, Times Square Chronicle

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
