Cirque Session: Keep Calm and Learn to Hula Hoop
Hosted by the Eastern Iowa Circus Collective
Big Grove Brewery is committed to keeping everyone active and we think this is going to be a blast! Come learn to hula hoop with us!
Interested in learning to hula hoop but dont know where to start? Join fire performer and Eastern Iowa Circus Collective Founder Lindsey Moon for a 60-minute workshop on the lawn at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City.
Cost: $5 suggested donation. Registration required, to insure instructor has enough hoops for all participants. Registration link will be available March 1st!
After a short warm up, learn the basics of waist hooping, learn how to start moving the hoop up and down your body, and learn two basic lifts. Participants will also be introduced to the basics of off-body hooping and will learn a basic isolation with one hand and with two. The workshop will conclude with a contest (and prizes!) and some practice time.
Locally handcrafted hoops for sale after the class: hoops wrapped in one color will be $10, hoops wrapped in two colors will be $15, hoops wrapped in four colors will be $20. Limited number of metallic hoops for $30.
