Taste of Ag + Art Fund Raiser to Bring the Tours to Lexington & Richland Counties
The Midlands Food Alliance is working to bring the Ag + Art Tour which operate in 12 other counties in the state to Lexington and Richland Counties.
This May 19th event is to raise funds for the two counties to have the first ever Ag + Art Tours in their counties.
What is the South Carolina Ag + Art Tour?
The South Carolina Ag + Art Tour is the nations largest free, self-guided farm tour featuring local artisans and farmers markets. During these events visitors have the opportunity to see first-hand where their food comes from, watch artists in action, purchase something special, and learn more about rural life. 2018 will be the first time Richland and Lexington Counties will participate and their tours will be in the Autumn of 2018.
Ag + Art was founded in York County in 2012, the tour expanded to include Lancaster County in 2013, Chester and Fairfield Counties in 2014, Union County in 2015, and Chesterfield, Darlington, Kershaw, and Horry Counties in 2016 and Florence and Newberry Counties in 2017.
To keep it free to the public, the Ag + Art Tour is funded through grants and other sponsorships and by fund raising events like this one.
As we get closer to the event sponsorships will be offered and sponsors will be able to share your organization with tour participants while supporting area farmers and artisans.
