ABOUT MARGOT ROI Vocalist Margot Roi is the recent winner of the "Admiral Music 2012 New Jazz Competition". Born in Hamilton and now living in Toronto, she studied both Fine Arts and Music at the Universities of Windsor, Toronto and York. Beginning with a singer-songwriter approach her ability to infuse pop, roots, blues into jazz become her strength. She further studied vocal music with The Academy of Canadian Vocals, The Toronto Singing Studio, Bob Mover and Mitch Seekins.
This change of heart led Margot to be selected for the CMW 2012, NXNE, and The Barrie New Music Jazz Showcases, "The Best Female Jazz Artist 2008 Award" from the Toronto Exclusive On-Line Magazine. Margot has been given an award by the Billboard World Song for one of her originals and been included in the CD Compilation "Songs of Canada 2012: (Anthology of Canadian Songwriters)".
