Direct Animation on Film Workshop with Devon Damonte
Make movies (or flicks / motion graphics/ images in high velocity sequence), by hand (use your digits  the original digital cinema!), without cameras (nor any other infernal contraption devices), then watch them the same night with friends and family on the big screen in BIMA's Auditorium. Learn a wide range of experimental techniques to make images directly onto 35mm leaders and found footage, using markers, inks, paints, scratchings, tape collage, etc. No experience necessary, all materials provided (and bring your own to try too). All ages 8-98 are welcome, though participants under 16 must register with an accompanying adult).

Your registration for this workshop also guarantees you a seat for Localoops: Light & Sound, a multi-projector immersive live performance in the Frank Buxton Auditorium at BIMA from 7:00-8:30pm. In addition to screening film footage from the workshop, the evening show will feature multiple 16mm projectors simultaneously screening work by film artists Ruth Hayes, Caryn Cline, Catherine Alice Michaelis, Eric Ostrowski, and Devon Damonte, accompanied by quadrophonic sound by Peter Randlette.
