AIAOC Lunch Program- The Lifecycle of an E & O Claim: Limit Your Liability

This presentation will review what to expect when you have a professional liability insurance (E&O) claim and tips to limit your liability. We will take an in-depth look at the entire lifecycle of a claim and go over the proper reporting process. The presentation will also cover how to effectively work with your insurance broker, insurance carrier and attorney through the claim process and tips to limit your liability.

Presenters : Spenser H. Lauro is an insurance broker in the design professional practice of Dealey, Renton & Associates. With over 7 years of experience as an insurance broker; Spenser specializes in helping design professionals find unique solutions to challenging insurance and risk management related matters. Spenser earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, and is licensed with the California Department of Insurance as an insurance broker. He holds affiliate memberships at the AIA Orange County, Structural Engineering Association of Southern California, the ACEC Orange County chapter, and is on the board of directors for the Orange County Canstruction event. Spenser is a native Southern Californian residing in Newport Beach, CA.
Michael L. Wroniak is a trial attorney and the managing partner at Collins Collins Muir + Stewarts Orange County office. Mr. Wroniaks litigation practice focuses on general liability; professional liability including the representation of architects and engineers, general contractors and construction managers; and public entity liability. Mr. Wroniak has represented service professionals in matters relating to personal injury, property damage, breach of contract, professional liability, and construction disputes. He has represented public entities in matters involving dangerous conditions of public property, civil rights violations, inverse condemnation and wrongful termination, harassment and retaliation in the workplace. Mr. Wroniak earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach in 1997, and went on to obtain his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Chapman University, Dale E. Fowler School of Law in 2000.
