Danubius - named after the Danube River, features various styles of Hungarian music including Cigany, Cardas,folk, and Nota (Gypsy restraurant music), will present an ALL-HUNGARIAN PERFORMANCE for your dancing and listening pleasure. Danubuius is led by Jutka Mandoki and Barbara Deutsch, both conservatory-trained muscians with Hungarian roots.
Meraklii- let Bay Area based Balkan Ensemble Meralii & Rumen Sali Shopov pick you up and spin you around with their energetic Balkan and Romani dance tunes! Rumen is an internationally acclaimed musician, arranger and band leader who has inspired many local musicians and groups. Ensemble Meraklii grew out of his Balkan and Romani Ensemble music/singing workshop at the Berkeley Jazz School.
Eszterlanc - Hungarian Folk ensemble has been celebrating and showcasing Hungarian folk culture in the Bay Area since 1977. The commnity served by Eszterlanc is vast, as appearances include international festivals, social events, patriotic holidays and ethnic events. The Hungarian community alone, the group's most supportive audience, numbers in the tens of thousands in California.
