Raw
Everyone in Justine's family is a vet. And a vegetarian. At 16, she's a brilliant and promising student. When she starts at veterinary school, she enters a decadent, merciless and dangerously seductive world. During the first week of hazing rituals, desperate to fit in whatever the cost, she strays from her family principals when she eats raw meat for the first time.
Justine will soon face the terrible and unexpected consequences of her actions as her true self begins to emerge...
"A coming-of-age tale like you've never seen, Julia Ducournau's "Raw" left me intrigued, mildly nauseated and extremely curious about what passes for recreation at French veterinary schools." Moira McDonald, Seattle Times
"If you can see past the rain of blood, Raw is a gorgeously moving film about fear and adolescence -- albeit one best viewed on an empty stomach." Josephine Livingstone, The New Republic
"Its command of tone is constant, even in the film's darkly droll final moments, during which you may not know whether to laugh or gag." Alan Zilberman, Washington Post
"...disturbingly erotic..." Katie Fire, AV Club
