IRON Lily Cohen escapes the crowded tenements of early 1900s New York to take on a demanding railway job. Determined to work on a steam engine, a position not traditionally held by women, Lilly faces the hostility of her fellow railroad workers while finding her own inner strength.
Janek/Bastard Ten-year-old Krzysztof faces his father's decision to hide a Jewish boy from a nearby village in the family's house. As the new boy prompts the father's attention, Krzysztof develops a flammable jealousy towards Janek, which reaches a dangerous peak and leads to an irreversible act.
Jonah Inspired by the events of August 27th, 2015, when the Austrian police found the corpses of seventy-one refugees abandoned in a lorry parked on the side of the street in Burgenland State. It's pitch dark in the night and a lorry is trying to reach the Austrian border. A group of Syrian refugees is hidden in its interior. A woman tries to soothe a trembling child by narrating a fable of Jonah and the Whale: a story which is common to both the Jewish and the Islamic culture. They are both waiting to get into Austria.
Girl At Risk Shira an Orthodox Jewish recruit is excused compulsory combat duty in the army. She is instead doing a year's National Service in a high school. Annoyed that she has been given no serious responsibilities, she seeks greater involvement with the students and attempts to help a troubled fourteen-year-old student in crisis and is forced to pay a price for her naivety.
The Girl In The Blue Bra During the 2011 Egyptian revolution, Amira, an idealistic young woman passionate about the future of her country encounters Ahmed, an out of uniform police officer at the local market. The two begin to argue over the revolution, with neither able to sway the others views. As local political passions escalate and activists take to the streets, Ahmed is sent to quiet the protestors and Amira is compelled to join the protestors. Due to passionate ideals, both lose sight of humanity in their quest for a better Egypt.
From Hasakah With Love A girl whose family members have been murdered, in the city of Hasakah, goes to incredible lengths to show her protest to the ongoing massacre, but will she make the ultimate sacrifice.
