Learn How to Make Beer
Learn how to make consistently great beer using a basic equipment kit and what you already have in your kitchen.
We'll cover all aspects of the brewing process from cleaning and sanitation to bottling the final product while we make a five-gallon batch of a hoppy American Pale Ale. You will get hands-on experience with the equipment that comes in a basic homebrew equipment kit and sample beers made by some of the area's best homebrewers.
This lesson is being presented by award winning homebrewers Dan Baish and Devon Sundlov of Sultans of Swig Homebrew Club. Devon is also a member of the Buffalo Beer Goddesses and is a 2018 recipient of their Cicerone Scholarship for WNY Women.
All proceeds of this event will benefit Matt Urban Hope Center, a Buffalo organization that provides meals, job training, benefits screening, housing assistance and other community services to those in need.
Seats are $20 and attendees will receive a coupon for a 10% discount on brewing equipment and ingredients at Niagara Tradition Homebrew shop in Tonawanda.

Q&A
Question: |
is this legal? |
Answer: |
Good question! Brewing your own beer is perfectly legal. You can consume it, share it, bring it places and give it as gifts. The main thing you can't do with homemade beer is sell it. You would have to open a brewery to be able to do that. And as always you need to abide by laws that prohibit serving alcohol to anyone under the age of 21. |
