In celebration of International Womens Day, the National Museum of Dance and iTheatre Saratoga will present a revival of The Vagina Monologues at the Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Riggi Theater. Performances will be Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each and include a complimentary glass of wine.
The Vagina Monologues, an Obie Award-winning play written by Eve Ensler, tells the compelling stories of several female voices such as a six-year-old girl, a woman witnessing the birth of her granddaughter, and a feminist happy to have finally found a man who liked to look at it. The Associated Press praised, Ensler breaks taboos by talking, talking, and talking some more stripping fear and shame from what she celebrates here. It makes for quite a party. Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting, and occasionally angry The Vagina Monologues confront words to demystify and disarm them. In doing so, Ensler disarms the audience too.
