The Rose is pleased to announce the world premiere of Quinn Alexander Fontaine's comedy " Hung Like A Seahorse: the Show + Tell Version", directed by Susan Mele. This comedic foray into Fontaines existence is a companion piece to his first book, "Hung Like A Seahorse: A Real-Life Transgender Adventure of Tragedy, Comedy, and Recovery". This show is recommended for ages 16+. Under 16 must have a parent present.
BIO: Quinn Fontaine is a proud TRANSguy who has a background in all things expressive [standup, sketch and improvisational comedy, installation work and found object sculpture]. He began his studies in Communications Media at Simmons College in Boston and continued his education studying Performance/Video at the California College of the Arts in Oakland. Fontaine went on to star in the independent feature, Some Prefer Cake. He also co-wrote, co-produced and co-starred with the sketch comedy troupe Nude Coffee, playing venues throughout the United States and Europe, most notably Edinburghs International Fringe Festival. Fontaines first-ever one person show, LEARNING TO STAY, was selected for fellowship with The Global Center for Cultural Entrepreneurship. Fontaines second solo show, aptly titled KATHLEEN FONTAINE: THE MAN, THE MYSTERY!, played to sold out audiences.
His first book, HUNG LIKE A SEAHORSE: A Real-Life Transgender Adventure of Tragedy, Comedy and Recovery, made multiple International Best-Seller lists within 48 hours of it's launch. He's honored to be doing his first solo show since his transition at the one and only ADOBE ROSE THEATRE in SANTA FE, NM. HUNG LIKE A SEAHORSE: the show+tell version, is a companion piece to the book and focuses mostly on the funny.
Fontaine was recently crowned Santa Fe Pride King 2018 and couldn't be more excited. He's getting to heal that little boy in him that never got to go to prom. Santa Fe Pride this year will take place on the plaza Saturday June 30th.
