Writers have long learned about writing by reading other writers studying their sentences, their rhythms, their use of image or characterization. But writers read other things, too, from the mood of a room to the tone of a beloved's voice. This is a workshop on developing reading skills, so you can read with more focus and wonder. We'll reflect on ourselves as readers, close read some short texts, and practice reading the world writ large. All genres welcome!
