Valley Jazz Voices presents the Karrin Allyson Trio
Five-time Grammy-nominated artist Karrin Allyson has forged an extraordinary career as a singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, and bandleader. Beloved by musicians, concert-goers, and jazz connoisseurs around the world, Allyson has recorded 15 CDs. Her latest release is Rodgers & Hammerstein's Many A New Day from Motema Records. Her recordings showcase her astonishing breadth of repertoire, with jazz and Brazilian standards from composers including Gershwin, Porter, Monk, Jobim and more. With her strong blues foundation and her ability to deliver on the nuances of just about any tradition, Allyson is one of the most dynamic, versatile and accessible jazz vocalists on the scene.
Her trio includes young and highly accomplished players: Miro Sprague on piano and Marty Jaffe on bass, both with deep roots in the Valley.
Valley Jazz Voices, a community-based jazz vocal ensemble with over 30 singers, brings together singers and audiences who are passionate about jazz vocals. VJV will open for Allyson.
Allyson's concerts are almost always sellouts so buy your tickets early!
